Inaugural Volunteer Assembly
Community Impulse and Growth
On September 7th, we held our first Volunteer Assembly, where more than 90 volunteers came together to explore new strategies, share ideas, and offer proposals. The goal was to tap into our collective, starting conversations about how to strengthen FundaveNYC. We shared resources, potential partnerships, and ways to keep engaging the public at large through our programs, workshops, and events.
Our volunteers demonstrated incredible resolve once again, offering support for every upcoming event. Their dedication strengthens our foundation and allows us to grow, ensuring we continue to provide essential care to the migrants who need our help. Over the past few months, many new volunteers have joined our efforts, helping to develop innovative ideas and improvements to benefit the community.
During the assembly, FundaveNYC’s board of directors presented the 2025-2030 strategic plan, outlining an updated mission and vision. The new plan introduces key pillars to provide the Hispanic community with expanded support, giving individuals more opportunities to improve their quality of life.
Our Mission:
FundaveNYC accelerates the transition of immigrants to become thriving residents of New York City through humanitarian response, economic empowerment, and personal development.
Our Vision:
As a leader and ambassador for the immigrant community, FundaveNYC will empower 200,000 immigrants over the next five years to overcome challenges and fulfill their dreams. We will measure success through humanitarian action, economic security, housing, and civic engagement and volunteerism.
The Need and the Opportunity:
We believe that immigrant populations face both the need and the desire to access and integrate the resources our city offers, but challenges remain. FundaveNYC aims to meet this need by inspiring, empowering, and supporting individuals to seize opportunities and achieve success.
Our emphasis on relationship-building creates a strong, connected community. This network plays a vital role in addressing the challenges our city faces, from post-pandemic labor shortages to the ongoing need for affordable housing and solutions to the current immigration crisis in New York City.
